Stock market holiday: Is the stock market closed tomorrow?

NEW DELHI: Fairness, forex, and derivatives markets will probably be closed for buying and selling on Thursday, March 11 because the Avenue and the nation will observe Mahashivratri. Commodity markets will probably be closed for morning session however buying and selling will resume for the night.

The bourses will reopen for buying and selling on March 12, Friday.

On Wednesday, benchmark indices continued to climb for the third consecutive day monitoring positive aspects in peer Asian markets, and amid the progress over the $1.9 billion stimulus package deal within the US. Barring PSU banks, all sectors closed with positive aspects.

The 30-share pack Sensex added 254.03 factors or 0.50 per cent to shut at 51,279.51. Its broader peer NSE Nifty superior 76.40 factors or 0.51 per cent to fifteen,174.80.

Market breadth was in favour of losers as 1,629 shares ended within the inexperienced, whereas 1,350 names settled with cuts. As many as 213 securities hit 52-week highs, largely from the smallcap house. In the meantime, 47 names hit 52-week lows, largely from the microcap house. About 330 shares hit higher circuit limits and 225 decrease circuit limits.

European markets have been buying and selling blended. London-based FTSE was down 0.14 per cent whereas Paris and Frankfurt added 0.49 per cent and 0.44 per cent, respectively. In Asia, South Korea, Singapore and China closed within the purple whereas the remaining registered positive aspects.
