NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a unfavorable notice on Thursday.
Shares of LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.51 per cent) ended the day as prime gainers within the pack.

Alternatively, Coforge(down 1.52 per cent), Persistent Techniques(down 1.37 per cent), Infosys(down 1.37 per cent), MPhasis(down 1.16 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.83 per cent) completed as the highest losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.74 per cent down at 28811.15.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 85.6 factors at 18771.25, whereas the BSE Sensex stood down 284.26 factors at 63238.89.
Among the many 50 shares within the Nifty index, 11 ended within the inexperienced, whereas 39 closed within the purple.
Shares of Alok Industries, Vodafone Thought, Suzlon Power, Reliance Energy and IDFC First Financial institution had been among the many most traded shares on the NSE.
